Neurodiversity Affirming Practice – Workshop
discounted access for NEW GRAD Speech Therapists

Boost your understanding and practice to support autistic children in deeply affirming ways – Kick off your career on the right path!

You’re across the terms ‘Neurodiversity’ ‘Neurodivergent’ and you know a bit about what a Neurodiversity Affirming means. But it can be a whole other big step putting your great intentions into practice and feeling confident that your speech therapy supports for autistic children are aligned with the ND movement.

I’m here to help!

If we haven’t met, HI! I’m Adina Levy. A neurodivergent speechie from Sydney. I’m utterly dedicated to teaching parents, educators and other speechies & professionals how to support autistic children in affirming ways.

I am so heartened by our profession’s huge response to the ND movement and there are so many wonderful speechies like you who are making big changes in your practice already. I’m especially excited and passionate about supporting early career and new grad speechies to start off your career on the right path – providing affirming, thoughtful and supporting guidance to children and families from day 1!

Together, we can keep heading in this direction! My goal is to guide you over the 2 hour workshop to reflect on your knowledge, confidence and practice, learn new ideas, and make concrete plans to work with autistic people in neurodiversity affirming ways.

Workshop is recorded and on-demand, with 12 months’ access

In this recorded, on-demand online workshop, you’ll start to reflect, learn, un-learn and make plans for change, on these topics and more:

Autism & neurodiversity info + terminology and why we should or shouldn't use certain terms

Understand ableism and reflect on your own biases & assumptions

Understand behaviourism, ABA and alternative approaches

Learn What ND affirming goals and therapy should look like

What it means to truly value interests, sensory needs, play modes & communication preferences

About Adina Levy

Speech Therapist & Director of Play. Learn. Chat.

I’m a neurodivergent speech therapist based in Sydney, working mainly with autistic children and kids with disabilities since 2012. I’ve worked in a range of settings, from community and disability organisations, running my bricks-and-mortar group private practice, and now as a sole practitoner running an online-only private practice.

I am somewhat obsessed with finding the balance between helpful, ethical practice, clinical relevance, sustainable, profitable services, happy therapists and smooth systems.

I have a neurodiversity-affirming approach to my work with children and families. I believe that all brains are wonderful, different and needed. All children’s and adults’ individual strengths and passions should be celebrated and honoured. I keep this at the front of my mind when designing, setting up and running groups. I’m exploring my own ND qualities, and have a strong need to help shift the landscape of support and community for autistic children. I reflect on my own life experiences and my many years practicing (and changing my practice!) supporting autistic children as a speechie.

So here I am, ready to share and connect with you and support you on your Neurodiversity Affirming journey!
